Babbage 75th Jubilee

Partners in excellence 1936-2011 

Babbage Consultants Ltd has had various names over the past 75 years, but it has continuously offered its clients quality consulting services and successful outcomes. 

In 2011 Babbage celebrated 75 years of business. Over our lifetime Babbage has had a great influence on the built environment around New Zealand - something that many will not be aware of. Every day tens of thousands of New Zealanders drive on roads or pass buildings and structures that Babbage has played a key part in the design of.  An overview of our history can be found here.

A commemorative Babbage booklet has been produced to celebrate the company and its work over the past three quarters of a century. From gas pipelines to major slip prevention and stabilisation, new schools to heritage buildings, "The Difference" illustrates the work undertaken by Babbage without fanfare or fuss over our lifetime. Babbage celebrated its jubilee on 3 November 2011 with clients, colleagues and staff, past and present, at the Voyager New Zealand Maritime Museum on Auckland's waterfront.  Babbage undertook the structural engineering for the multi-award winning extension of the Maritime Museum and so it was a fitting location for our jubilee celebrations, close to Babbage's first office in Shortland Street.

We are very proud of our heritage, but most of all, we look forward to working with our clients to create new facilities, structures, buildings, systems and environments that serve New Zealanders well into the future.
