Babbage Changing of the Guards.

We take time to appreciate the long-standing commitment of Tony Stack-Forsyth.

April 2015

There has been a changing of the guard in the Babbage Principal team, with Tony Stack-Forsyth having officially retired from Principal shareholding as of the end of March, and Paul Duder stepping up from Senior Associate to Principal at the same time.

Tony steps down as the Principal responsible for the Process-Mechanical Engineering team in the Practice and this team will now come under the wing of Babbage’s Project Management Group.

Tony joined Babbage in 1982 as a mechanical engineer fresh from the pulp and paper industry and became a Director in 1985. He has been with the Company for over 33 years, his movement into management and leadership came at a time when the Company was struggling to recover from financial difficulties resulting from the severe recession in the construction industry in the late 1980s. It was Tony’s sheer determination and effort which oversaw the recovery of the Practice and he has continued to provide a steady guiding hand in its subsequent development growth.

Tony has wide ranging experience in many processing industries and has been heavily involved in the engineering and project management for dairy projects over the past fifteen years or so. He has also continued to specialise in pressure vessels and process piping for a range of industries.

Tony will continue working on current projects as he winds down his involvement with the Practice. His eventual aim is to be able to focus on other areas of his life, especially his passion for fishing. Hopefully Tony will continue his involvement with the Practice for quite some time yet and supply us with his knowledge of the best fishing spots in the harbour!

We wish to express our sincerest thanks to Tony for his commitment and effort over many years and to wish him all the best for the future.

Paul Duder joined Babbage in 2010 and has over 16 years of experience in Operations Management, Project Management and Project Engineering, completing multidisciplinary projects in the food, meat and dairy industries in both New Zealand and Australia. Paul has been an Associate since 2011. Babbage’s Project Management team has undergone very rapid growth in the past couple of years under the guidance of its current principal, Grant O’Connor. Paul’s joining the Principals team will provide much-needed support to Grant and will help the Group to fulfil its potential in the years ahead.

We welcome Paul to the Principals team and wish him all the very best in his new role in the Practice.

Tony-Stack Forsyth has stepped down from the Board of Directors as he winds down to retirement.
