Mayor To Open Foodstuffs Supermarket
Another new Foodstuffs project using Babbage engineering expertise
On 29 November 2011, the Auckland Mayor, Len Brown, will officially open the new PAK'nSAVE on Great South Road in Papakura to the public. The ceremony is at 8.15am and PAK'nSAVE are inviting the local community to attend the opening.
The supermarket was created with Babbage Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Structural Engineering designing site specific solutions to create the two storey building with internal mezzanine. An underground car park has been created to produce 265 parking spaces of covered or uncovered parking. New roads have been created on the site to enable easy access by both customers and delivery vehicles alike. A difficult project on a brownfield site with extensive earthworks, this project will be profiled by Babbage on our website in the near future.
This supermarket was created with the same construction team that Babbage worked with to create the Mt. Maunganui New World, Savory Construction.
We are very proud of our ongoing working relationship with Foodstuffs since we carried out our first major project for them 9 years ago.
