Babbage Property Council Award Winners
Babbage design innovation rewarded
Two projects involving Babbage have been recognised in the Property Council New Zealand Rider Levett Bucknall Property Industry Awards 2011.
Blue Water Black Magic - the extension to the National Maritime Museum dedicated to NZ yachting and Sir Peter Blake - received Excellence in the Special Purpose Property Award and was a finalist for the Rider Levett Bucknall Supreme Award. This project used Babbage Structural Engineering to extend the wharf and support the architect's vision with floating walkways circling NZL32, suspended in a full height atrium. Babbage Geotechnical Engineering conducted the foundation investigations.
The Remarkables Primary School won a merit award in the awards category for Education and Arts. The innovative design was a key factor in the award, overcoming harsh environmental factors to provide 21st century learning spaces. Babbage Architecture and Structural Engineering were key members of the design team.
