Babbage City Impact Church [227KB]
The brief for this project was initially a moving target, but the clients' vision was always clear.
The auditorium needed to seat as close to 2000 people as possible. The spaces had to be dynamic and modern, a home away from home and had to feel right with no overt visual religious themes. The new facility includes the sanctuary, offices, entertainment lounges, gym, dance studio, classrooms, boardroom and edit suites.
90 percent of the project was built by the volunteer work force of City Impact Church and was completed in time for City Impact Church's 25th Anniversary.
Babbage Architecture, Electrical, Structural and Fire Engineering has since worked on the conversion of the Custom Fleet Building in 2010 to provide a new facility for the church in Mt. Wellington.
