This project included the full scope of the site expansion to construct a 28T/hr WMP Drier, a new boiler and all associated site process services, waste water treatment and disposal requirements. The project included all latest technology on offer from suppliers to produce the lowest $Capital Cost / tonne of product. Babbage was invited to manage this project on a negotiated basis.
Formal risk management, quality assurance, design review processes were implemented. Staffing/operation costs were assessed against capital costs in detail, and safety management systems development for the client were all important factors on this project.
Partnering and Innovation
A formal “Stakeholders” programme was initiated and lead by Babbage resulting in a Stakeholders plan which again was of high value to the project and all participants. This was similar to that run by Babbage on the previous two driers on the site, which were also Project Managed by Babbage.
All innovations available for consideration were reviewed at the start of the project and those implemented have resulted in the lowest cost per tonne of product on capital and energy usage.
Performance
First product was produced on time and the project is well within the approved budget.
