Babbage Green Bay High School [237KB]
The new Visual Arts and Science Building forms part of a sequential upgrading of the existing buildings planned at Green Bay High School.
The 780m2 building accommodates three new science classrooms, a science laboratory teaching space and staff/resource space. The visual arts component comprises three art studios; together with a resource and staff room and spaces for teaching digital art and photography.
The design revolves around concepts of adaptability and flexibility requiring adaptability to diverse disciplines and flexibility to individual teaching requirements. The learning spaces can be opened or closed to the interior adjoining spaces and to the exterior as required. The traditional paradigm of a classroom with access from an adjacent corridor is replaced with a flow model where teachers move from the inside outwards and students from the outside in.
