Carbon accounting.

Being Ahead of the Game

October 2014

There are an increasing number of policy initiatives in the field of sustainability reporting from governments or market regulators in the EU.

  • Denmark, Finland, France, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, United Kingdom have mandatory regulations for certain companies to report on their CSR performance and/or GHG emissions.
  • Austria, Sweden and Germany have voluntary schemes.
  • India has released a GHG accounting program as well which is voluntary, however Ford India has joined it.
  • A number of Brazilian companies have joined the voluntary GHG reporting in their country.

The United Kingdom has made it mandatory for all companies incorporated and listed in the UK, officially listed in a European Economic Area or admitted to trading on either the New York Stock Exchange or NASDAQ to include emissions data in their annual reporting.

To demonstrate our leadership and commitment to a better future, Babbage has been independently certified on a voluntary basis by carboNZero as New Zealand's first carbon neutral multi-discipline Building Consultancy practice.

Babbage Consultants does not only account for GHG emissions, we also offset them and aim to reduce them on an ongoing basis.
