This year’s conference brought the water sector together to explore the challenges and opportunities shaping the future of water in Aotearoa. It was a great opportunity for our team to connect with industry peers, learn and contribute.
Mariana Basilio (Babbage’s Senior Environmental and Spatial Consultant) presented research co-authored with Judith van Dijk (Babbage’s Senior Environmental Scientist and Soil Specialist), exploring how catchment restoration can change hydrological behaviour and strengthen climate resilience. Their research combines detailed soil investigation with stormwater modelling, highlighting how regenerated forest soils can help reduce peak flows.
