Developing Auckland's residential potential.

Oteha, Auckland

The Project

With an ongoing requirement to increase the availability of housing in Auckland, Babbage’s Civil Engineering team are on the leading edge of preparing land for residential development.

The construction of 58 new residential lots was completed in August 2015 for Stage 7 of Kerekin Investments residential subdivision near the northern motorway in Oteha, Albany.

Babbage were responsible for the design, consenting and construction management of Stage 7 with input from our Civil, Geotechnical, and Environmental teams as well as our Survey team.

We are very proud of our on-going relationship with Kerekin Investments which started with our involvement in the design and construction of Stage 4 of their Oteha residential subdivision in 2002.

The Design

The site had relatively steep slopes and a combination of carefully designed earthworks and low height retaining walls were utilised to provide and efficient lot layout and optimum building platforms for housing construction.

The development is connected to nearby streets and public transport via a number of pedestrian and cycle accessways designed by the Babbage team in conjunction with Council requirements.

Design and consenting of Stage 8 of the same development has been completed by Babbage and construction of a further 107 lots has just commenced.
